The revitalisation and repositioning of Sloane Street as a focal point of high-end retail and leisure activity was part of a larger initiative by the client in close collaboration with the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.
We were appointed to complete a lighting masterplan for the district as part of a larger landscape and urban design initiative.
The principal aim of the project is to create a more pedestrian friendly environment for kilometre-long Sloane Street which links Sloane Square with Brompton Road.
The masterplan will create a grand tree-lined boulevard with broad pavements, a greater number of pedestrian crossing points and high-quality materials such as York stone and silver-grey granite.
AS well as recommending improvements to the street lighting, the lighting masterplan incorporates lighting treatments which prioritise the vertical surfaces of buildings and other landscape elements, which will alter the perceived night time brightness of this major luxury shopping destination.
