Lighting can be a tool for improving wellbeing, security, work performance and appearance. Enhancing our night-time social spaces, guiding economic activity and inspiring people through works of art.

Our process seeks to captures these intangible qualities through rigorous design development. By understanding the fundamental aims and aspirations of the client, we develop a design strategy suited to the specific needs of each project.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

Our holistic approach considers the form, function and feasibility of each strategy. Starting from first principles, we examine how people will interact with each space, what experience we are trying to create and how lighting can assist this.

From the outset, concepts are designed within the framework of sustainable parameters such as LEED, WELL and BREEAM with consideration to lighting code recommendations.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

We develop and fine-tune conceptual designs through a practical approach, lighting modelling and utilising calculation software as well as in-house mock-ups to evaluate the practical and aesthetic values of the scheme.

Clear dialogue between all relevant parties are upheld to ensure the complexities of each project are properly resolved and fully co-ordinated. Graphical representation, technical drawings, calculations and demonstrations are used to communicate lighting intentions.

DETAILED DESIGN

Upon final issue a co-ordinated technical package is produced containing lighting layouts, lighting details, control schedule and luminaire specification to facilitate the tender process.

CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION

We support projects through until practical completion. Installation reviews, focusing and commissioning are conducted on site to ensure the lighting installation is as intended, whilst post-occupancy evaluations ensure that the client’s intentions are realised.
