The National Museum in Oslo, the largest art museum in the Nordic countries, opened on 11th June 2022. This new building signals the museum’s significance on a national and international level and is already one of Norway’s most important and monumental buildings.
It has been conceived as a place where older and modern art, contemporary art, architecture, and design are all experienced under one roof and in completely new ways.
Having worked on the project as lighting consultants, part of the museum design group in collaboration with Ramboll, we were involved in the design of the flexible lighting systems in all galleries and the ‘light box’ landmark feature housing a huge exhibition space. A long and complex journey, supported by an ambitious client and amazing design team, called for imaginative designs and created a stunning result.
