We were appointed to design the façade lighting with a brief to visually unify the entire historical Knightsbridge Estate at night and put the entire building block firmly on the prime retail map. Most of the estate dates back to the early 19th century and there are three Grade II listed heritage buildings. The complexity of the estate called for sensitive and thoughtful design considerations due to the varying architectural styles, elements and stone type. The total length of the lit façade is over 500 meters, making it the largest installation of its kind in the UK. The scheme utilizes dynamic-white LED luminaires to enable custom tuning of white light colour temperatures in order to suit each building material, this also creates more flexibility and creativity when adjusting the lighting colour temperature to suit summer/winter months.
