The lighting design for the large developments evolves over the years, moving from early concepts and technical studies to on-site testing, focusing, commissioning, and finally, lived experience.

At Wembley Park, EQUATION Lighting Design team involvement in the public realm lighting design spans from the initial concept sketches to technical documentation that translated the lighting intent, through multiple site visits and hands-on focusing sessions, to completed areas now experienced by residents and visitors – the continuity has been of key importance.

Reviewing the project as a team allows us to test assumptions, refine details, and ensure that the original design principles translate clearly into the built environment. It is during these sessions, on site, after dark, that the fine tuning lighting decisions are validated to support legibility, atmosphere, safety, and a strong sense of place.

This project reflects the value of long-term engagement and close team collaboration, where design intent is carried through with care from concept to delivery, allowing the public realm to be experienced exactly as envisioned.
