#LDF2025 | Light as Experience
The EQUATION Lighting Design team explored a series of exhibitions at the London Design Festival 2025, inspirational moments of light, reflection, and materiality.
“Mirrored Lightscapes” by Yael Erel invited visitors into an immersive environment where light becomes a living presence. Through mirrors, projections, and sculpture, the installation revealed light as dynamic and ever-changing, a poetic reminder of its power to shape emotions and space.
At the Southbank Centre, Lee Broom’s monumental piece “Beacon” stood as a sculptural tribute to time, architecture, and sustainability. A choreography of light unfolded on the hour, connecting past and present in a shared public gesture, a stunning reimagination of the classic streetlamp through the lens of upcycled materials and theatrical rhythm.
At YDF showroom, a conversation with LASVIT Studio explored how light and glass merge into expressive works of art, blending craft, innovation, and storytelling in ways that continue to push creative boundaries.
Stepping outside our day-to-day design work to encounter new perspectives, expressions, and materials continues to fuel our inspiration and broaden our creative lens. We are grateful to be part of the design community in a creative city like London, where design activities are always pushing to the next level.
Thank you to the organisers, curators, and artists who keep these conversations alive.
